Positive thinking has many benefits, it is good for your health and overall well-being, it can make you more resilient, it boosts motivation and can help you turn problems into possibilities. Expressing gratitude reminds us to be grateful for the small things we often take for granted. Gratitude and positivity, in a sense, are muscles and as such require exercise to stay fit and functional. Here’s my plan on how to achieve this…
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. -William Arthur Ward
I’ve decided that to hold myself accountable for my positivity and gratitude, I’d like to post something that I’m grateful for as often as I can right here on this blog. It will just be a short post about what I’m feeling grateful for at the time. Hopefully by doing this, I’ll start to become more aware of the small things that show me that there is so much good around, I just need to take notice and be more mindful in my approach to each day and moment. I hope this inspires you to find what you’re grateful for as often as you can too!
Today I’m grateful for:
Delicious coffee carefully made with love for me every morning!
My boyfriend has recently delved into a new entrepreneurial venture which combines his love for coffee, problem solving and the internet. Put these together and you have his new baby – Cape Coffee Beans!
Launched in November 2013, Cape Coffee Beans is an online store where you can buy freshly roasted coffee beans from boutique coffee roasters and have them delivered directly to you anywhere in South Africa.
Being a perfectionist, he tests all the coffee beans at home to find the perfect beans and preparation combination! I’m obviously not complaining, this means I get a delicious cup of coffee handed to me with an excited smile whenever he has tried something new! But my favourite cup is the one that gets handed to me every morning without fail. Our good ol’ faithful plunger together with his perfected technique and freshly ground coffee beans is the perfect combination to get the day started on a positive note!
I’m excited to keep finding these simple things that often get overlooked but that actually add so much to our days!
It’s the little things…
